Mike’s journey into watercolour painting started in July 1992 on a course at the Suffolk College Summer School with Michael Norman as tutor. After several years with Michael he enrolled at Dedham Hall with the late James Fletcher-Watson R.I. for 2 courses in 1998 and 1999 which turned out to be his last as he sadly died soon after. Mike found the knowledge and passion of such a highly respected watercolourist very moving.
A few years later Mike booked a course again at Dedham Hall with Winston Oh following several recommendations, again an artist using just watercolour, and the first impressions were his enthusiasm throughout the course when not only was he tutoring in the morning and afternoon but evening as well.
Having enjoyed his first course with Winston so much Mike attended several more and in 2012 when Winston produced a book ” Describing the Light in Watercolour ” with 120 of his original paintings and narrative by Steve Hall Mike took on the job of UK distribution.
